Welcome to the Kerry Chelsea Supporters Club est 1995

We are a fairly large and enthusiastic bunch of Chelsea supporters located in County Kerry in the South West of Ireland. A Club which was founded as a result of a late night bet in a well know Listowel watering hole.

The gauntlet was thrown down by a local Liverpool fan to our founding member Henry Molyneaux that there were more Liverpool fans in Listowel than there were Chelsea fans, which resulted in the establishment of the Listowel Chelsea Supporters Club.

The club grew rapidly from an advert in a local sports store, to the Clubs inaugural meeting the Mermaids bar in Listowel. The Clubs members took their first trip together to the Bridge in 1996 to see Chelsea beat Leeds 4-1 which included a Mark Hughes hat trick.

It was discovered on that trip that there were quite a few Chelsea supporters in Tralee and other parts of Kerry so the following season the Tralee and Listowel fans joined arms to form the Kerry Chelsea Supporters Club.

In the early days our meetings took place with 8 members sitting on kegs in the Castle Bar’s stock room, where donations were gratefully received from long-time members such as Gerrard O’Sullivan, Bertie and Danny Flynn in order to get the club off the ground.

We currently hold regular meetings and enjoy far more lavish surroundings in the Castle Bar which is located on Rock Street Tralee, which is known locally as the street of champions quiet apt given Chelsea’s season last year!!

Support from Chelsea Football Club

Without the support, guidance and help from Diane and Vanessa in the Supporters Club and Disabled office the club would not be what it is today. They are incredibly efficient, helpful and pleasant in making Chelsea available to not only our club but to all clubs.

Members who are gone but not forgotten

We would like to mention our great members and great friends Mick, Donal and Paul who are no longer with us but you will always be in our thoughts and hearts.
